Fantastic poem about the end of HIPs

Posted By Eric Walker on Thursday 13th May 2010 17:10:53

Get Profile Enough - what will be will be

 IF you can keep your HIP when all about you Are losing theirs

 and blaming EPC’s on EU,

If you can trust yourself when Vendors doubt you,

But make an allowance from the Commission due;

If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,

For Shapps of Teather, the new lib/con allies,

Or being slated, don't give way to slating,

And yet don't look too sharp, nor compromise:

If you can scream - and not make Dave your master;

If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;

If you can treat Hips and EPCs as a Disaster

And treat those two impostors just the same;

If you can bear to hear the crap they have spoken

Twisted by politicians to make a trap for fools,

Or watch the Acts you gave your vote for, broken,

And stoop and build 'em up with another bunch of tools:

If you can make a go of all your listings

And risk it all by not giving a toss ,

 And lose, as Trading Standards start at your filings

 And never breathe a word about your loss;

If you can force Haart and another few

To serve the rules before they are gone,

And so hold on when there is nothing in it for you

Except the Bill which by now has gone.

If you can talk with vendors and keep your virtue

'Or walk with Foxtons without the common touch,

 if neither surveyors nor conveyancers can hurt you,

If all agents count with you, but none as much;

If you can sell the property in a minute

With sixty buyers when you just need one,

Yours is the deal and the fee that's in it,

And - which is more - you'll be a Agent, my son!
