The 118118 service analysed over 20 million calls in December and January and noted:*
Inquiries for estate agent telephone numbers rose by 44%, for surveyors rose by 25% and for mortgage brokers by 26%.
* Inquiries for lettings agents rose 31% and for property management rose 41%.*
A significant number of people are concentrating on improving their existing home rather than looking for an immediate sale, as calls for loft conversion firms increased by 58% over the period, and calls for conservatory suppliers rose by 35%.
