Rightmove sends record daily leads to agents
The portal claims that leads more than doubled on Monday – the first full working day this January – compared with the same day last year, showing that inquiry interest in the property market has leapt two-fold. The new daily record for the website meant that nearly 44,500 leads were sent to agents on Monday, compared with 20,092 on the same day in 2008.Miles Shipside, commercial director of Rightmove, said: “Our statistics show that inquiries about properties are flooding to estate agents at record levels. Sellers in distress are having to be more open to offers and prospective buyers who have been holding off for a few months are now busy inquiring about possible bargain purchases.”He also suggested that prospective buyers are circling at the bottom of the market and that these are the ones inquiring in record numbers.
